Isopropyl Myristate (Liquid)
It is a light fatty ester produced by the reaction of isopropyl alcohol with myristic acid (a natural fatty acid). It is widely used in cosmetics as an emollient and sensory enhancer, and is characterized by a light, fast-diffused liquid texture and a nearly imperceptible odor.
Isopropyl myristate in cosmetic formulations improves product glide and spreadability, and helps reduce the heavy, greasy feel of oils and butters. It is also used as a carrier for oil-soluble active ingredients and, when applied correctly, contributes to improved skin texture without affecting the stability of the formulation.
Benefits
- It gives a light, fast-absorbing texture.
- Improves spreadability and gliding on the skin
- Reduces the greasy feeling in rich formulas
- It contributes to improving the overall sensory perception of the product.
- Compatible with most oils, silicones, and oil-soluble cosmetic active ingredients
